FLOW Origine and FLOW Evoluzione are two interpretations of the same concept. Two names that describe a single journey, the one that accompanies every act of writing. Every origin already holds the potential for what it will become, while every evolution preserves the memory of the point from which it began. Writing proceeds in the same way. One thought leads to another, one word paves the way for the next, until the page reveals something that, at the beginning, did not exist yet.

From the very beginning, FLOW was designed to follow the natural rhythm of writing. The twenty-four facets that define its profile have become a hallmark of the collection, combining character, ergonomics, and balance in a recognizable form designed to stand the test of time.

For the first time, FLOW is also available in a glossy resin finish.

Following the versions crafted from ebonite—a material that continues to be a defining element of SCRIBO’s identity—this edition explores a new form of expression. The glossy surface interacts with the light, which dances across the twenty-four facets and highlights their geometry with ever-changing reflections. The resin also offers a different tactile experience: smooth, solid, and natural to hold.

The use of this material has also led to a re-evaluation of certain design details. The base has been redesigned and lengthened by just two and a half millimetres. This minor adjustment makes the relationship between the fountain pen body and the cap even more harmonious, lending greater continuity to the silhouette. These are details that rarely catch the eye, but their presence is felt every time the fountain pen returns to your hands.

This research takes shape through two complementary editions.

FLOW Origine evokes the essence of the first gesture. The glossy pastel black finish complements the purity of the design with intense depth, allowing the light and the geometry of the surfaces to define its character. It evokes the colour of ink and that moment of concentration that precedes the blank page.

FLOW Evoluzione captures movement. The mother-of-pearl green finish reveals a surface that shifts with the light, displaying ever-changing shades, reflections, and pearlescent effects. Every movement of the hand offers a new perception of colour, just as thoughts continue to transform through the act of writing.

Each model is identified by its limited production run and year of manufacture; the 140 pieces of the FLOW Origine, finished in yellow gold, and the 90 fountain pens of the FLOW Evoluzione, finished with ruthenium accents, signify a limited production run and mark each stage of the manufacturing process over time. A subtle detail that makes each fountain pen part of the collection’s history, before becoming part of the history of whoever chooses it.

A thin, delicate egg pasta immersed in the softness of ricotta and spinach that encloses a melting and creamy yolk. Together with Parmesan cheese and truffle melted by hazelnut butter, it creates a unique combination of flavors: simple, yet bold tastes.

Uovo in Raviolo is the perfect synthesis of the territory, technique and flavors of San Domenico’s cuisine.

Today, that art gets a new form. SCRIBO pays tribute to this excellence with Uovo in Raviolo, a limited and numbered edition of the LA DOTTA collection. Like every edition of this collection, this one is dedicated to the celebration of our territory. Inspiration: our meeting with Massimiliano Mascia

The inspiration to create this new project came from our first meeting with the Chef Massimiliano Mascia. We immediately liked the idea of creating and associating one of our fountain pens with something unexpected: a dish that has made the history of Italian haute cuisine.

The idea of linking writing to such a refined and representative gastronomic experience of the territory fascinated us immediately. An unusual but perfect marriage between the gesture of writing and the art of cooking.

A fountain pen inspired by the warm and enveloping colors of this iconic dish: the fresh golden pasta, the yolk melting with mountain butter and white truffle. Each pen mark becomes an expression of the same care, precision and passion that make this dish a timeless icon.

Massimiliano Mascia: tradition and innovation

Massimiliano Mascia’s career path began when he was only 14 years old, alternating his studies with direct training in the family restaurant and enriching his experience in the best international cuisines. He honed his technique in France with Alain Ducasse, explored the organization and rhythms of catering in the United States and perfected his knowledge of raw materials in Italy.

For him too, handwriting has a deep meaning that takes him back in time:

“My relationship with handwriting is ancestral and takes me back to my school years, when the pages of ruled notebooks guided the movements of the ballpoint pen so as not to go off the edges. Today writing is mostly digital-phones and keyboards seem to dominate over everything, but the important things, the things that really matter, the sentences of the heart, written to the people we love and care about most, are always handwritten. Thankfully, I might add.”

Today, Massimiliano Mascia carries this legacy forward, guiding San Domenico into the future. Through his ability to innovate while honoring tradition, he continues to elevate the restaurant’s philosophy—rooted in its culinary heritage yet constantly evolving through technique and research.

The two new fountain pens of the PIUMA collection are inspired by the bright colors of the plumage of these tropical birds and are a genuine rainbow of colors, fixed by hand with brush and airbrush. Finally, the color layering is protected by a special anti-UV lacquer to protect its luminosity over time.

Wisteria (Glicine), a small climbing plant that color the city with clusters of lilac flowers, bloom in Bologna with the arrival of spring.

Native to China and Japan, wisteria was introduced into the gardens of Europe, starting with those of England, in the 18th century and soon became among the most popular and appreciated exotic plants because of their spectacular and fragrant blooms.

In the language of flowers, there are so many meanings attributed to wisteria, from beauty to sensuality. Of all the values that are associated with wisteria, we like to mention that wisteria has always been a symbol of friendship in Europe.

Orange is a fruit native to Southeast Asia that was introduced to Europe in the 10th century. Today it is one of the most cultivated fruits in the world, and is produced in many countries, including Italy, Spain, Brazil, the United States and China.

The blue caliph fig is a variety of fig native to Turkey and is also cultivated in Italy, Spain and other Mediterranean countries. It is a late fig variety, which ripens between August and September.

Orange and blue caliph fig are two fruits that therefore have a very strong geo-gastronomic bond.

Orange is a truly versatile fruit, which can be eaten fresh, squeezed, or used in the kitchen for the preparation of sweet, savory and drinks.

The blue caliph fig, on the other hand, is a fruit with a sweet and aromatic taste and is often used for the preparation of jams and ice creams.

Their intense, bright, and bold colours inspired our two new FEELs.

FEEL Arancia, with platinum trim, is made with orange mother-of-pearl resin and has variable shades in each piece. Just like its versatile uses in the kitchen, FEEL Arancia represents creativity and energy. It is a color that captures the attention of those who use it and inspires those who want to give voice to their imagination.

FEEL Blu Califfo, apparently more sober with its blue/purple and light orange shades that enhance its depth, is the ideal object for those looking for inspiration in writing and reflection. This time, on this refined color, we wanted to present two trims: the ruthenium one, to give a classic but decisive touch and, for the first time, the rose gold trim, to make the deep shades that characterize this shaded blue resin even more elegant.

FEEL Orange is made in 219 pieces with platinum trim.

FEEL Blu Califfo with rose gold trim is made in 119 pieces and FEEL Blue Califfo ruthenium version in 100 pieces.
