It is from this image that FEEL Nova Stella takes shape, a new interpretation of the FEEL collection, inspired by the last journey of Ulysses narrated by Dante in Canto XXVI of the Inferno.

Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Ulysses passes through the Pillars of Hercules, crossing the boundaries of the known world to venture into the immensity of the ocean. His route leads him to a different sky, where the stars of the northern hemisphere disappear below the horizon line, leaving room for those of the opposite pole, never before observed by sailors. It is one of the most evocative images of Dante’s story: an unknown sky that reveals itself to those who have had the desire to go beyond what they knew.

FEEL Nova Stella was born from this gaze turned to the unknown. Its name symbolically recalls those stars never seen before, which become an expression of the human desire to know, explore and overcome one’s own boundaries.

But Ulysses’ journey also holds a deeper meaning. In Dante, the search for knowledge coexists with the risk of going beyond human limits. The desire to discover new horizons is accompanied by the uncertainty of what awaits beyond the known, in a continuous tension between curiosity and awareness.

It is precisely this tension that makes discovery an experience capable of transforming us. Each new horizon changes our way of observing the world and invites us to question ourselves about what still remains to be known.

Writing also often takes shape from the desire to explore something whose form we do not yet know. A thought barely guessed, a question left unanswered, an idea that takes an unexpected direction.

In front of a blank page, words become a research tool: they allow us to go through what we imagine, to observe from different perspectives and to give shape to what, until a moment before, we did not yet know how to express.

Every word opens up a possibility. Every sentence can lead us to an unexpected reflection. And sometimes it is precisely by writing that we come to understand what we were looking for.

With FEEL Nova Stella, SCRIBO pays homage to this dimension of writing, to the pleasure of being surprised by your own’s ideas and to the curiosity that continues to fuel the desire to know.

The link with Dante’s story is also found in a distinctive detail of this edition: number 133.

In Canto XXVI of the Inferno, it is precisely in verse 133 that Ulysses recounts the appearance of an unknown mountain, seen in the distance after months of navigation. It is the moment when, beyond the sea and under a different sky, a never seen before land is outlined.

An image that containes the charm of overcoming the limit, but also the complexity of Dante’s story.

SCRIBO has chosen to preserve this reference by creating FEEL Nova Stella in two different finishes, each limited to 133 numbered copies, for a total of 266 fountain pens.

The number, also recalled by a dedicated engraving, thus becomes an integral part of the identity of the edition. A detail that binds each copy to the story from which it draws inspiration, transforming a precise literary reference into a distinctive element of the fountain pen.

FEEL Nova Stella celebrates the charm of what still remains to be known. That curiosity that leads us to question ourselves, to change perspective and to look for new meanings even in the most familiar experiences.

Two interpretations of the same landscape. Two ways of entering into a relationship with natural matter: on the one hand, what seems to emerge, reflecting light, changing with the gaze; on the other hand, what appears deeper, terrestrial, marked by slow and silent growth.

They are not simply two shades. Resina and Corteccia build a story made up of surfaces, light, vegetation and time. A story that finds its continuity in the gesture of writing.

With these new editions of the FLOW collection, SCRIBO shares exactly this journey.

FLOW Origine and FLOW Evoluzione are two interpretations of the same concept. Two names that describe a single journey, the one that accompanies every act of writing. Every origin already holds the potential for what it will become, while every evolution preserves the memory of the point from which it began. Writing proceeds in the same way. One thought leads to another, one word paves the way for the next, until the page reveals something that, at the beginning, did not exist yet.

From the very beginning, FLOW was designed to follow the natural rhythm of writing. The twenty-four facets that define its profile have become a hallmark of the collection, combining character, ergonomics, and balance in a recognizable form designed to stand the test of time.

For the first time, FLOW is also available in a glossy resin finish.

Following the versions crafted from ebonite—a material that continues to be a defining element of SCRIBO’s identity—this edition explores a new form of expression. The glossy surface interacts with the light, which dances across the twenty-four facets and highlights their geometry with ever-changing reflections. The resin also offers a different tactile experience: smooth, solid, and natural to hold.

The use of this material has also led to a re-evaluation of certain design details. The base has been redesigned and lengthened by just two and a half millimetres. This minor adjustment makes the relationship between the fountain pen body and the cap even more harmonious, lending greater continuity to the silhouette. These are details that rarely catch the eye, but their presence is felt every time the fountain pen returns to your hands.

This research takes shape through two complementary editions.

FLOW Origine evokes the essence of the first gesture. The glossy pastel black finish complements the purity of the design with intense depth, allowing the light and the geometry of the surfaces to define its character. It evokes the colour of ink and that moment of concentration that precedes the blank page.

FLOW Evoluzione captures movement. The mother-of-pearl green finish reveals a surface that shifts with the light, displaying ever-changing shades, reflections, and pearlescent effects. Every movement of the hand offers a new perception of colour, just as thoughts continue to transform through the act of writing.

Each model is identified by its limited production run and year of manufacture; the 140 pieces of the FLOW Origine, finished in yellow gold, and the 90 fountain pens of the FLOW Evoluzione, finished with ruthenium accents, signify a limited production run and mark each stage of the manufacturing process over time. A subtle detail that makes each fountain pen part of the collection’s history, before becoming part of the history of whoever chooses it.

A thin, delicate egg pasta immersed in the softness of ricotta and spinach that encloses a melting and creamy yolk. Together with Parmesan cheese and truffle melted by hazelnut butter, it creates a unique combination of flavors: simple, yet bold tastes.

Uovo in Raviolo is the perfect synthesis of the territory, technique and flavors of San Domenico’s cuisine.

Today, that art gets a new form. SCRIBO pays tribute to this excellence with Uovo in Raviolo, a limited and numbered edition of the LA DOTTA collection. Like every edition of this collection, this one is dedicated to the celebration of our territory. A tribute to the culture, tradition and craftsmanship that make Emilia-Romagna a reference point in the world for quality and know-how.

Inspiration: our meeting with Massimiliano Mascia

The inspiration to create this new project came from our first meeting with the Chef Massimiliano Mascia. We immediately liked the idea of creating and associating one of our fountain pens with something unexpected: a dish that has made the history of Italian haute cuisine.

The idea of linking writing to such a refined and representative gastronomic experience of the territory fascinated us immediately. An unusual but perfect marriage between the gesture of writing and the art of cooking.

A fountain pen inspired by the warm and enveloping colors of this iconic dish: the fresh golden pasta, the yolk melting with mountain butter and white truffle. Each pen mark becomes an expression of the same care, precision and passion that make this dish a timeless icon.

Massimiliano Mascia: tradition and innovation

Massimiliano Mascia’s career path began when he was only 14 years old, alternating his studies with direct training in the family restaurant and enriching his experience in the best international cuisines. He honed his technique in France with Alain Ducasse, explored the organization and rhythms of catering in the United States and perfected his knowledge of raw materials in Italy.

Just as SCRIBO celebrates the art of writing through the absolute quality of its nibs and research into materials, Massimiliano Mascia cherishes and renews a legacy of technique, passion and emotion.

For him too, handwriting has a deep meaning that takes him back in time:

“My relationship with handwriting is ancestral and takes me back to my school years, when the pages of ruled notebooks guided the movements of the ballpoint pen so as not to go off the edges. Today writing is mostly digital-phones and keyboards seem to dominate over everything, but the important things, the things that really matter, the sentences of the heart, written to the people we love and care about most, are always handwritten. Thankfully, I might add.”

Founded in 1970, San Domenico revolutionized Italian gastronomy, transforming the refined cuisine of noble households into a culinary experience accessible to all. Today we are launching something truly special, originally planned for a later release, LA DOTTA Frassinago and Saragozza are dedicated to the strength and unity of Bologna.

On Saturday 19th of October there was a serious flooding, right here in the heart of Bologna, leaving areas devastated and in need of complete rebuilds.

In the light of these recent events, we have moved forward this LA DOTTA launch, dedicating our two new editions to the support of rebuilding our community.

Therefore 30% of the revenues from these two editions will be donated to support Comune di Bologna in the rebuilds of our community.

The new LA DOTTA Frassinago and Saragozza fountain pens are made of diamond cast resin and produced in 219 pieces per color.

The most distinctive feature of Aras is undoubtedly their plumage. Each species sports a unique combination of vibrant colors, ranging from fiery red to sunny yellow, cobalt blue to emerald green.

Beyond their beauty and allure, Aras play a crucial ecological role, maintaining the delicate balance of tropical ecosystems. Spotting an Ara in its natural environment is an unforgettable experience, a reminder of the fragile beauty and precious biodiversity our planet harbours.

The two new fountain pens of the PIUMA collection are inspired by the bright colors of the plumage of these tropical birds and are a genuine rainbow of colors, fixed by hand with brush and airbrush. Finally, the color layering is protected by a special anti-UV lacquer to protect its luminosity over time.

A few dozen kilometers from Bologna, in the hills separating Emilia-Romagna from Tuscany, we find the Labante Caves, one of the most impressive travertine formations in Italy, with a length of 54 meters and a drop of about 15 meters.

The caves were created by the erosive action of spring water that, over millennia, has created a fairy-tale and evocative landscape where you can admire stalactites, stalagmites, flows and pools.

In addition to their geological value, the Labante Caves are located in an area of great scenic beauty, and their dark and silent environment is capable of creating an evocative and fascinating atmosphere.

The travertine that makes them up is a sedimentary limestone that is widespread in Emilia-Romagna and in Bologna itself. In fact, travertine has been used since Roman times for the construction of numerous historic buildings in our city including, the Two Towers and the incomplete Basilica of San Petronio facade that dominates Piazza Maggiore in the city center.

Our two new LA DOTTA Labante and Travertino fountain pens are inspired by the colors, scents and settings of the caves of the same name.

LA DOTTA Labante is made in 119 pieces, handcrafted in a turquoise mother-of-pearl resin inspired by the colors of waterfalls near caves and embellished with ruthenium finishes.

LA DOTTA Travertino, also made in only 119 pieces, features for the first time “Corten” PVD metal finishes that encircle the multi-colored resin inspired by the fairy-tale landscapes found near the Labante Caves.
